Director of Safety & Security
Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club
Anguilla, BWI
12.2024 - Current
Leading all safety and security operations at an ultra luxury Forbes rated resort, golf club and water park, my role and achievements include;
Legal compliance: Responsible for ensuring the 380 acre site complies with all local and international laws and standards. I have been instrumental in bringing the resort up a safety standard compliant with all OSHA regulations. This includes creating a Fire Prevention Plan, Emergency Action Plan and Health and Safety Plan, something which the resort did not have prior to my appointment.
Major incident management: Within my first month of employment, our sister property experienced a gas leak and explosion. I was the first on scene and began administering life saving first aid to the victims. On the arrival of the Ambulance, I took the role of incident commander and liaised with first responders, and directed staff to assist in the emergency evacuation of the premises. On conclusion of the incident that evening, I called and lead a debrief with the General Managers and Director of Hospitality during which we came up with an action plan for the sister property.
Training and development: Responsible for training all staff in a number of topics including fire safety, first aid, situational awareness and communication and de-escalation. I regularly train all departments in order to ensure a culture of safety, and to adequately equip staff to handle various situations. As a qualified trauma medic instructor, I have implemented a rolling first aid training program to give all staff access to a high level of first aid and to increase confidence when dealing with medical issues on property.
Emergency and disaster planning: Conducting an assessment of the resort, and collaborating with the Department of Disaster Management, I have written and implemented a Hurricane and Tsunami Response Plan in anticipation of hurricane season. I disseminated this plan to all leaders at the resort, conducting table top training exercises to ensure our readiness.
Executive protection and VIP security: Aurora Anguilla is frequented by high profile, and ultra high net worth individuals. For each visit of this nature, I conduct a security assessment of the principle. Where appropriate, I plan and brief a protection package covering medical evacuation, pick up and drop offs, strongholds and other key close protection fundamentals.
Effectiveness and efficiency: Out of 600 employees, I had the honor of being awarded the 'Effectiveness & Efficiency Degree' within my third month of employment stating 'In recognition of your outstanding performance using efficiency and effectiveness in your role.'
Oversaw safety of guests, employees and and assets by enforcing and regulating security policies and procedures and monitoring and maintaining security systems.

Anguilla, BWI
02.2024 - Current
Deployed in Anguilla as the Team Leader of a Firearms team deployed by the FCDO to counter the increase in firearms enabled murders and drug smuggling by Organized Criminal Gangs (OCGs), my role and achievements include;
Operational management: With overarching responsibility for all firearms deployments in the country as well as any crisis and critical incident management, I oversee the planning and commanding of joint operations with partner agencies.
Procedural documentation: Writing the Post Incident Procedure for when a police firearm is discharged or after a critical incident, prior to my arrival Anguilla did not have such a document in place. I have also rewritten the firearms SOPs, bringing them up to date, and suitable for current policing operations.
Efficiency: Streamlined department processes by implementing efficient case management systems and organizational strategies.
Training: Leading firearms and medical training to the Royal Anguilla Police Force, to enhance their capabilities.
Recruitment: Responsible for vetting CVs and conducting interviews of new applicants to the role, I present my selected candidates directly to the Commissioner of Police for his approval.
On appointment of my role in hospitality, The Commissioner of Police expressed so much trust and confidence in my ability, he requested I remain a sworn law enforcement officer to assist the police force whenever I could, an appointment I proudly hold to this day.
Part of a highly trained, small team providing overt and covert firearms response to any threat to life incidents within the UK, my role and achievements included;
Incident response: Hostage rescues, threat to life, maritime interventions, counter terrorism operations and counter human trafficking are just a few of the responsibilities as a CTSFO. Day to day work included crisis and critical incident management, close quarter combat, working in high threat hostile environments and close target reconnaissance.
Multi-agency working: Regularly working with UK Special Forces at Hereford and Poole and their international counterparts to share invaluable knowledge, skills and experiences, I also worked alongside the FBI, US Secret Service, Military Intelligence and the National Crime Agency.
Organization: The Officer-in-Charge of planning the deployment of all law enforcement assets during Operation Radiometer and briefing all those involved, Radiometer was a counter terrorism operation involving members of the Islamic State plotting to murder Prince George.
Event security: Given the privilege of planning and commanding the Quick Reaction Force to the late Queen's funeral, I identified where potential terror or firearms threats may emerge from and how quickly and effectively, we could respond. My planning, including mass casualty and crisis management, was meticulous with no room for error.
